I can't feel my toes

Damn it's cold outside.

I hate winter. I don't mind the cold, but WHERE IS THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just seems to bring the mood down a notch or two. On the bright side of things, at least it isn't so humid I have to chew the air I breathe.

Why?????

Any one who know Amy and I, knows that we have been a little stressed lately with a lot of different things.

About a year a go we had "perfect" plan and everything was going to be great. Fast forward....WOW.

Amy says it all time "Everything happens for a reason." Were we just to comfortable when we got a kick in the ass that pushed us off course? Is it a test? Probably, but Why? Build character? To reinstate who really holds the power?

I heard this quote from the bible, on TV, several months ago and can't stop thinking about it.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Please help Amy and me to really hear this verse, help us battle through the difficult times and love the lord even more when things turn around.

My rockstar wife

Just a quick entry about my wife.

She has put it in her heart bless a family over the Christmas season this year.

Instead of playing an extra game (which means buying an extra gift), she wanted to "adopt a family" with the money we would have spent on gifts.

Our family along with some very generous people are going to make it a wonderful Christmas this year for a single mother with two kids in Elk River.

Amy is amazing. She did the research and found a church that helps less fortunate families. She also gathered money and other donations for this family. We (our family and friends) have been able to purchase a lot of clothes and toys for children, a gift card for groceries and a gift card for the mother to go clothes shopping. What is really amazing is through a friend, a wonderful woman from Crayola donated a lot of kids/teenager items. When I say a lot, I mean two rubber totes full of stuff. Coloring books, sidewalk chalk & paint, markers, crayons, you name it and it's in the totes....WOW!!!!!!!

Here she is playing with some of the coloring stuff.

You rock Amy!

On Cruise control...set at ????

Holy crap...to all of the parents with more than one child, I'm not sure how you do it, but my hats off to you. I grew up in a house with 5 kids, on a dairy farm, with both parents at home most of the time, but running a farm is about a 16 hour a day job for the parents. How in the world did you do it? I don't want to brag, but I think we all turned out pretty damn good!!! (at least so far....the jury's still out on the politician of the family...because you can never trust a politician-he he)

The sad thing is, during the week, on an average day I get to see/play with Gavin for about 4 hours in the evening before he goes to sleep. Am I cheating him from "Daddy Time?" It just seems like there is so much crap that needs to get done- finish the yard, clean the garage, go to softball, finish outside stuff at work before winter comes, spend some quality time with Amy, write on this blog. I feel like the cruise control is on, but I'm not sure if it's at 95mph because of the chaos of the day, or is it at 2mph because most days are, crazy busy, but routine for the most part.

Not sure this message made any sense, but it's what was in my head.

Other Thoughts

**Gopher Football...wow, I feel bad for Brewester for inheriting such a bad team, at least Gopher wrestling is right around the corner

**Keep Tori Hunter-the retards at the front office in Minneapolis made a huge mistake on this on

**Pray for me and my job situation, the industry is getting even worse now that it's winters around the corner

**Sod party on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, everyone is invited

Later for now

I have been harassed by several people about my blog, and the few and far between the posts have been. I have been busy lately but I some stuff on my mind to talk about. Not tonight but sometime when I have more time.

Here's a preview:

My brother the political pimp
Parenthood is a whirlwind
9/11 thoughts/god and a conversation I had a while ago with someone
Friends possibly on the move

I'm sure I'll find more stuff to write about as well. Later for now

MMMMMMMMMMMM Toes are good

The other day Gavin found his feet and the "Big Toe."

And of course Grandpa Jim had to help him out.

Auntie Nanna was there too...Can't wait to see little Brett Jr.
in a few weeks.

It's so much fun to watch him grow and interact with others. He is becoming such a little man, with distinct traits, like his moms attitude and love of food and of course my charm.

Congrats to the "BIG B"

A close friend of mine just recieved some great news in the past few days. Good for him, but I'm not sure how I feel yet. Since we've moved we hardly ever see you any more, I hate to think what it'll be like if you move to the south metro. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm wishing and praying that they put you in a store in the northwest metro. I'm pumped for you Brenton and for your family. And know that your "bank roll" is going to be gangster-like.....golf is on YOU..

Holy Crap

I never thought I would start a blog, but here I am.

I just want to warn you...this is not going to be politically correct. You might even get offended, I'm not trying too, I'm just speaking my mind.

I'm starting this blog more for me. As I pursue excellence as a husband, I am going to try and use this blog as an online journal.

I will also share other things, such as Gavin growing up, family trips, works stuff, etc. My main goal is to have subject "free game"

More to come later.
